Before a dental visit, it is natural to have questions. Many of them are practical, and some come from worry about pain or cost. Below you will find short, direct answers to the questions we hear most often at Seoul E&D Dental Clinic, from how to book and when we are open to how insurance works and what we do to keep treatment comfortable. The questions are grouped loosely by topic: practical details first, then insurance and comfort, then specific treatments, emergencies, children and international patients. Answers are general; your own situation will be discussed in person at your consultation, where we can examine your teeth and explain what applies to you. For details on specific procedures, see our treatments overview, and for practical preparation, read the first-visit guide. If your question is not answered here, our coordinators are happy to help by phone or WhatsApp via the contact page.

Where is the clinic and how do I get there?

Seoul E&D Dental Clinic is at 2F (Units 201–202), Hanaro Building, 693 Gosan-ro, Sanbon-dong, Gunpo-si, Gyeonggi-do, about a 5-minute walk from Sanbon Station on Seoul Subway Line 4.

Is there parking?

Please ask about parking when you book, and our coordinators will advise you. Many patients find it convenient to come by subway, as the clinic is a short walk from Sanbon Station.

Is dental treatment covered by National Health Insurance?

Many basic treatments, such as examinations, X-rays, annual scaling for adults within NHIS limits, many root canals and extractions, are partly covered by National Health Insurance. Non-covered fees are listed in the clinic's posted non-covered fee schedule. Read more on pricing and insurance.

Will treatment hurt?

The clinic uses a 3-step painless anesthesia system: topical gel or gargle anesthesia, Endo-Frost cold numbing of the injection point, and a computer-controlled anesthesia device with electric-stimulation anesthesia. It is designed to minimize discomfort, and many patients find treatment easier than expected.

Can scaling be done comfortably if my gums are sensitive?

Yes. The same comfort measures can be used for scaling, which helps patients with sensitive gums.

What types of dental implants do you offer?

E&D Dental offers digital guided implants, one-day implants, full-arch implants and flapless (no-incision) implants. The right option depends on your bone, gums and general health.

Can I get implants if I have diabetes or high blood pressure?

Often, yes, with careful planning. The clinic reviews your medical history and medications and can monitor vital signs during surgery. See implants for seniors and patients with chronic conditions.

What should I do in a dental emergency?

Call the clinic during opening hours and describe your symptoms; we will try to see you as soon as possible. Learn more about emergency dental care. If swelling affects breathing or swallowing, go to a hospital emergency room.

Do you treat children?

Yes. We provide pediatric dentistry, including check-ups, baby-tooth cavity care, sealants and fluoride. Our guide to your child's first dental visit has tips for parents.

Do you see foreign patients?

Yes. Foreign residents and visitors are welcome. We can help arrange English communication; please ask when booking. See our international patients page.

What should foreigners bring to an appointment?

Please bring your Alien Registration Card (ARC) or passport. This is needed to register and to check National Health Insurance eligibility.

How often should I have a check-up and scaling?

Many people benefit from a check-up and scaling at least once a year, and patients with gum disease may need more frequent visits. Your dentist will recommend an interval based on your gums. Read how often you should get scaling.

Will you tell me if a treatment can wait?

Yes. Explaining why a treatment is needed and whether it must be done now is part of the clinic's care philosophy.

Not sure what you need?

Book an examination. We explain what we see, why it matters and whether it needs treatment now.
