Your First Visit

Your first visit to Seoul E&D Dental Clinic in Sanbon, Gunpo typically includes a short health questionnaire, a conversation about your concerns, an oral examination with imaging if needed, and a clear explanation of options. Bring your ID or Alien Registration Card, a list of medications and any recent dental records.

  • 5 min walk from Sanbon Station (Line 4)
  • Late hours Mon & Thu until 20:30
  • 3-step painless anesthesia system

A first appointment sets the tone for everything that follows. At E&D Dental, the goal of your first visit is simple: to understand your mouth, your health and your priorities, and to give you a clear picture of what, if anything, needs to be done.

How do I book my first appointment?

You can book by phone at +82-10-3015-3473 or on WhatsApp. When booking, let us know the main reason for your visit, such as pain, a broken tooth, a check-up or an implant consultation. If you would like help with English communication, please mention it when booking. More options are listed on our contact page.

What should I bring?

  • Identification. A Korean resident registration card, or for foreign residents an Alien Registration Card (ARC) or passport. This is also needed to apply National Health Insurance coverage.
  • A list of your medications, including blood thinners, blood pressure or diabetes medication, osteoporosis medication and supplements.
  • Information about medical conditions, recent surgeries, pregnancy or allergies to medicines or anesthesia.
  • Previous dental records or X-rays, if you have them, especially for implant or root canal consultations.
  • Your current dentures, night guard or retainer, if you use one.

Please arrive a little early so there is time to complete the questionnaire without feeling rushed.

What happens during the first visit?

  1. Welcome and health questionnaire. Our coordinators will help you fill in a short form about your general health and dental history. Because we pay close attention to whole-body health, this step matters, particularly for older adults and patients with chronic conditions.
  2. Conversation about your concerns. Before anything else, the dentist will ask what brought you in, what you have noticed and what you hope to achieve.
  3. Examination. A careful check of your teeth, gums, bite and jaw joints. Where helpful, we use our Q-ray intraoral camera to show plaque, cavities or cracks on screen.
  4. Imaging if needed. Depending on your concern, this may be standard X-rays or a scan with our low-dose 3D CBCT, which is often used for implant, wisdom tooth and TMJ assessment.
  5. Explanation and options. We explain what we found, why any treatment may be needed and whether it must be done now. Where there is more than one reasonable option, we discuss the pros and cons of each.
  6. Cost estimate. If treatment is recommended, we explain which parts are covered by National Health Insurance and which are not, and give you an estimate. See pricing and insurance for more detail.

Will I receive treatment on the first day?

Sometimes. If you are in pain, we will prioritize relief, and simple care such as a check-up or scaling can often be done the same day. More involved treatment, such as implants or full-mouth reconstruction, is usually planned first and scheduled for a later visit so you have time to decide.

I am nervous. What can I do?

Tell us. Dental anxiety is common and nothing to be embarrassed about. Our 3-step painless anesthesia system is designed to minimize discomfort from injections, and we can explain each step before we do it. You can also raise a hand at any time to pause.
